Toto Wolff has denied hating Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
Mercedes have endured some tough battles with the Dutchman in recent years, including the controversial end to the 2021 championship.
But in a rare appraisal of Verstappen, the Mercedes boss revealed an amusing story about a potential nanny for his young son believing she would not get the role due to being Dutch.
Wolff said: “I asked why, and she thought I hated Max Verstappen. But I really like Max.”
He added: “And he’s only 25 years old, right? You wouldn’t think someone of that age is so mature, also on his outlook on life. It’s really impressive. Whether it’s Max, Lewis, Michael Schumacher or Ayrton Senna, they’re all different but they all have a raw edge.”
