As the weather starts to get cooler, outerwear is essential, but staying warm doesn’t have to mean compromising on style.

An autumnal piece from H&M’s fall fashion collection is being praised by shoppers who are adding it to their wardrobes to style with outfits over the coming months.

Coats can be a costly purchase, and while keeping up with trends can be even more expensive, investing in a timeless design can save money in years to come.

The H&M Tie-belt coat is both reasonably priced at £44.99, and has a simple, easy-to-style cut and design – plus by signing up as an H&M member, the beige and brown shades are slashed to £35.99.

The coat comes in a choice of four neutral colours – black, light beige, light brown and grey, but due to its popularity, sizes are starting to sell out in some shades.

It’s designed to be fitted, however, if you wanted more of an oversized look you could size up, and the detachable tie belt can help to accentuate the waist.

The calf-length is perfect for autumn when a full-length coat would be slightly too warm for warm, sunny days.

Some shoppers weren’t keen on the structured fit of the coat and said that it would work best over fitted clothing or workwear.

Shoppers are leaving feedback on the coat, with some calling it ‘great value’.

One shopper said: ”Really lovely coat, feels so much more expensive than it is! Length is a bit long as I’m 5’2 – l prefer long coats but bear that in mind if you don’t.”

Another commented: ”Beautiful coat, fits perfectly and would definitely keep you warm in winter. So snug and amazing quality. Love the colour choices.”

Another shopper also added: ”Great value – structured coat with lining, at an amazing price….and it’s machine washable!!! It is a little heavy for me, and also for someone who likes clothing oversized generally, it felt a little bit restricting, since this is more of a fitted coat with a proper structure, so I decided to return. I would still give it 5 stars as it presents great value and versatility – and it would make a great work coat over more fitted clothing, a blouse, perhaps. I personally went 2 sizes up for a relaxed fit (and the fit was not bad at all).”
