With Kompany now no longer an option for Tottenham, their shortlist is looking even thinner.

Mauricio Pochettino looks set to choose Stamford Bridge over a return to Tottenham.

It leaves Julian Nagelsmann as potentially the No 1 priority for Spurs now with the German being sacked by Bayern Munich last month.

But Spurs will reportedly have to pay a £10million compensation fee to Bayern if they do make Nagelsmann their next manager.

The 35-year-old reportedly wants to wait to hear what Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham will be as well as who will come in as Fabio Paraticit’s replacement.

Xabi Alonso is also being mentioned as a potential option for Tottenham, as well as Brendan Rodgers, Arne Slot and Luis Enrique.
