For the glamorous charity event, Queen Rania of Jordan donned a sparkling Elie Saab floor-length gown from the SS23 Couture Collection.
The blue sequin embellished dress was altered for the gala, and a high neckline and blue sheer sleeves were added to make the gown more demure.
The original design was strapless and featured a sweetheart neckline adorned with a satin ribbon.
Queen Rania accessorised her elegant evening look with a custom clutch bag from Jennifer Chamandi, Le 8 Blue Satin Clutch with her daughter’s name, Princess Iman, engraved in Arabic.
The clutch bag, which is the same one she wore for her daughter’s wedding, featured the word “Imany” in gold, which translates to “My Iman” but also means “My Faith”.

Queen Rania’s look divided royal watchers on social media with some saying they were not fans of the gown’s alterations.
On Instagram, @niveen.h97 commented: “Oh God! Too many designs in one dress! Elie Saab has many covered dresses, why ruin a design and modify it like this?”
Another one, @kayjaffar, said: “Beautiful dress but the changes made to upper bust area to add the cap sleeves seems a little bulky.”
Some opined the dress was “too fancy for the event,” as @zeinaabdelazim pointed out on social media.
Royal fan @shaimaelgafy suggested that the dress was “a bit over the top” for a charitable event. “Plus, I think this would have suited [her son’s] wedding much better than the black one,” they added.
Instagram user @themisis observed that it was a “strange choice of clutch”. They said: “Why did she choose the clutch with her daughter’s name when the event was about fighting against cancer? Really strange.”
Another one, @joannatutinji, replied: “The clutch translates to ‘my faith’, its a conjugation of her daughter’s name. And seems appropriate for the event.”
Others believed the Jordan Queen looked simply stunning with @tashas_2000 saying: “Gorgeous! These cap sleeves – don’t know the name – are really a hit among royals.”
“Wowzers! One of her best looks ever! And that’s a competitive category!” @clairekl2 commented.
