and have been married for just under two decades and have gone through a great deal together.

Their relationship is under the spotlight and the couple are constantly photographed and videoed together, although they are not ones for major public displays of affection.

According to expert Judi James, there is one main gesture Camilla uses to convey her love for Charles, and it’s pretty subtle.

Judi claimed: “Camilla’s body language in public with Charles is restricted. They rarely touch or perform PDAs and they will often walk apart with no apparent tie-signs of connection.

“But there is one non-verbal signal that Camilla keeps on tap all the time and although it is subtle it will be a powerful catalyst in terms of endorsing their emotional compatibility.

She claimed: “When Charles turns to look at his wife he is rewarded with the small nod or head-lowering combined with a warm and very personal smile and the effect is that of a non-verbal ‘stroke’, showing him polite encouragement and reassurance as well as letting him know she is there to assist.”

Judi suggested that the Queen pairs this gesture with a simple hand movement to add meaning.

She claimed: “Camilla will often combine this with a courtier hand gesture that also signals she is there to serve or assist when needed.

“Her hands will often be held in a partial steeple, with the fingers lightly touching to enable her to be ready at any time should he need her.

“These rituals will provide a sense of comfort to Charles as well as warming his ego when his schedule might be gruelling.”

According to Judi, this body language ritual emphasises the difference between Charles’s marriage to Camilla and his first marriage to the late Diana.

She claimed: “During his first marriage to Diana it was her craving these signals of approval and support from her husband but being starved of them.

“Now we can see it was because he craves them too and in Camilla he has found a partner happy to provide them rather than need them.”
