A mum has been thanked for sharing a £2.50 hack for removing stubborn food stains from baby clothes, claiming it’s “much cheaper than stain removers”.
The affordable trick should help parents grappling with large amounts of laundry, nappy mishaps, food spills, and milk dribbles.
Getting rid of tough food stains from clothing can be a challenge at the best of times, and with bills on the rise, cleaning products may not feel like an essential addition to the shopping list.
Fortunately, one mum who loves sharing cleaning hacks online revealed her go-to product, and it hasn’t let her down since her son was a baby.
Kay Marie, who amassed over 11 million views on her TikTok page (@kaymarie53), is an enthusiast in all matters related to fashion and lifestyle.

The boutique owner recently tackled the topic of stains after a follower with a baby son asked her for advice.
“All of his new clothes are ruined,” the worried mum shared. Kay got back to the fan while taking a trip to Morrisons.
“This was my method when my boy was little. Napisan – you need it in your life. It removes all the bacteria in your laundry and also helps get rid of marks.
“So just fill a bowl and put all the baby grows in it. No requirement to soak them overnight – a few hours will do.”
She continued: “Also pop a Milton tablet. The same method can be used on socks, white t-shirts, bedding, basically anything white.
“I’m obsessed with Milton, I always have it in the house. It is much cheaper than all the whitening bits and stain removers. They are £2. I felt like these were […] helpful.”
Lastly, Kay advised never to let any stained garments sit in the wash basket for too long.
“A stain is much hardener to remove once it’s been sat there and dried in,” she explained. “Also, it is much worse off if the items have already been washed. Last but not least Fairy Liquid – put a little bit on the stain and watch it work.”
The clip amassed more than 100,000 views, with many viewers saying they regretted not knowing the hack earlier, having already discarded their baby’s grows.
Milton sterilizing tablets can be purchased from Tesco for £2.50 with a Clubcard, while Napisan is available from Tesco and Sainsbury’s for £4.50 (880g).
