Lady Gaga has had many transformations over the years, dabbling in every genre of music from electropop to jazz, and participating with a diverse range of artists from Beyonce to Tony Bennett.

However, today, Express.co.uk will take a look back at some of the 38-year-old’s most outrageous outfits, from the bubble dress to the jaw-dropping outfit that saw her draping herself in cuts of raw meat.

Some fans were horrified, while others regarded it as a bona fide piece of art – and Gaga later explained the motivation behind the outfit had been to pack a political punch.

“If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones,” she declared on the Ellen DeGeneres show at the time.

Ellen, then a committed vegan, admitted she struggled with the interview, explaining: “As someone who loves animals it was really difficult for me to sit next to Lady Gaga while she was wearing that outfit.”

However, she also admitted: “It did make me ask myself, ‘What’s the difference between her outfit and an outfit made of leather?'”

Meanwhile, Gaga also took on Madonna’s conical bra look but with a modern and even more attention-grabbing pyrotechnic twist, as she let fireworks loose out of her outfit.

Her eclectic fashion styles have even included a nod to Hello Kitty, with dozens of 3D plush toys featuring the Japanese cartoon character adorning one dress.

As the years have passed, Gaga’s style has toned down slightly, and there are thought to be no plans for eccentric aesthetics at this summer’s Las Vegas residency.

Instead, she’s likely to opt for classic old-school glamour as she serves up a jazz and piano set at Park MGM Dolby Live in the city of sin, with the eight-show residency running between June 19 and July 6.

Meanwhile, Express.co.uk reminds readers of her most aesthetically astonishing looks….
