Kylie Minogue has announced her first residency in Las Vegas.

The Australian singer is set to begin a three-month stint at the Venetian’s Voltaire nightclub from November.

The 55-year-old said she is “so excited” to begin her stay in Sin City, and make her first professional return to North America since 2011.

She told a news conference in Los Angeles: “I’ve performed a couple of times at Vegas, but as part of a tour, and particularly when I did the Showgirl tour in 2004 – at that time we said, ‘oh, this feels like a Vegas show’.”

The star said the show would be smaller than the usual Las Vegas shows, taking place at a 1,000-seat venue to give fans a more personal experience.

“I want it to be the kind of essence of what a Kylie show has become, enough glamour and abandon. I’ve got some versions of songs that have not been heard, like reinterpretations of songs, which is exciting. Live bed dances, amazing costumes,” she said.

“That’s the base, and then we’ll see what surprises we can come up with.”

The show will reportedly feature tracks from her forthcoming album Tension, alongside many of her greatest hits including Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around and Better The Devil You Know.

The move sees her follow in the footsteps of superstars such as Adele, Britney Spears, Celine Dion and Shania Twain, who have all enjoyed residencies in Las Vegas over the years.

Her latest song, Padam Padam, has become her biggest hit in more than a decade after going viral on TikTok, becoming her first UK top 10 single since All The Lovers in 2010.

Minogue’s Las Vegas residency begins on 3 November and is expected to include about a dozen shows.

Tickets are set to go on sale on 9 August.
