Foo Fighters are, simply put, one of the most powerful and iconic rock bands of all time.

Dave Grohl no doubt gave them a strong pedigree – with his Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age foundations – but their music ever since has become undebatable.

And, while playing their second sold-out night at the London Stadium in East London on Saturday, June 22, 2024, it was clear to see why.

With a celebration of their historic, chart-topping tracks from over the years, Foo Fighters put on a show that left fans screaming at the top of their lungs throughout the evening.

From Monkey Wrench, Best Of You, Everlong and Learn To Fly peppered throughout the 26-song setlist, it was truly a feast for rock fans. But it wasn’t all lip service.

Throughout the evening, Grohl constantly showed off his endearing personality, demonstrating just how heartfelt and grateful the entire band truly were.

From bringing Taylor Hawkins’ son, Shane Hawkins, on stage to play My Hero, and his own daughter, Violet Grohl, to sing a couple of songs, Grohl maintained that Foo Fighters is a family band.

With references to their lives on the road over the past 30 years and endless thanks to their fans (“You did this, you made this happen”), Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters built a welcoming, appreciative atmosphere across the entire night.

So then, it felt a little soured by Grohl berating Taylor Swift for playing Wembley Stadium at the exact same time.

We’ve all seen the videos of the Nevermind icon pointing out that his band plays their music live, while Swift allegedly doesn’t – but why was he even baiting his fans into the furore?
