One person close to Lando Norris has hinted to The Race that Lando Norris wouldn’t want to switch to Red Bull out of fear the Brit would not be given the tools to challenge with Max Verstappen for a World Championship.
That person is said to have ‘doubts’ on whether Norris would be allowed to fight with Verstappen while the 23-year-old admits he wouldn’t want to be considered as a No 2 driver.
“I believe, I want to have the confidence in myself, that if I was to go to any team, I’d be there to fight for wins and to fight for championships,” Norris told The Race.
“So, if I was to go anywhere, I’d probably make it clear that I’m not there to be a number two or to be in any other position, other than to do the best for myself and to go for the best position that I can, which is either to win races or to win championships.”
