Amazon customers are praising a cooling blanket that can help with hot flushes. associated with menopause, as well as keeping all customers cool during hot weather. The best-selling Luxear Cooling Blanket for Summer is designed using technology ‘that can release rapidly quantity of heat’.

Priced at £27.99, it is 150 x 200 cm in size and comes in a range of colours, including grey, pink, purple, beige and blue. You can use it on your bed during the night or use it as a sofa throw for hot and sticky days.

The lightweight blanket is made from Egyptian cotton. It can also be rolled up for a backpack on camping trips or festivals.

It is suitable for children, adults, and even dogs to bring down their body temperature during hotter climates. The blanket has more than 4,400 customer reviews.

One customer said: “While it’s never going to fix hot flushes it certainly helps them. I was put into surgical menopause seven weeks ago and have been struggling terribly, at night especially. Used this for the first time last night and had the best sleep I’ve had in seven weeks.

“Still getting the flushes but they dissipate much quicker and didn’t wake up drenched in sweat once. Previously it was six or seven times a night. Wish I had known about these sooner.”

A second commented: “I don’t often write a review only when I think it will genuinely reflect whether a product is particularly good or bad. I was sceptical about a blanket actually cooling someone at night but that is exactly what it does.

It is comfortable and soft, the blue is a pleasant colour, it is lightweight and the blanket washes well. I was so happy with my purchase I bought a second one.”

A third added: “This blanket is amazing. Had the best night’s sleep for months. I suffer from night sweats because of the menopause, had none using this blanket.” A fourth customer wrote: “This invention has saved my life. It is so cool at all times I love it.

“Such a welcome purchase when you get overwhelmed with menopause sweats and it works 100%. Never had a sweat day or night since buying.”

Although, not all buyers were happy with it, as this next shopper claimed it didn’t work. They said: “Perhaps I was expecting too much- but I do not find this product keeps me any cooler, even with a fan going all night as well.

“Disappointed I spent so much money out on it for it not to make any difference. Certainly wouldn’t recommend.”

Another had a similar experience, adding: “I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting, but I assumed it would have a cooling effect. But it is still cooler not to wear the blanket than to wear it. I wanted to be able to cover myself during the heatwaves but this didn’t really do anything to help.”

Amazon sells a number of cooling blankets including this Ailemei Direct Cooling Blanket with Double Sided Cold Effect. Priced at £29.99, the snowflake-printed throw comes in grey, yellow and blue.

Elsewhere a brand called Kudd – which specailises in throws, blankets, and cosy loungewear – is selling a Cooling Weighted Blanket in grey or sage. It’s pricey at £99, but right now is on sale for half price at £49.
