Cleaning guru’s genius hack to ‘clean your entire bedroom’ without even noticing

Spring is right around the corner, which is a perfect time to start fresh.

The warmer weather can be the motivation you need to get your life into gear. You may decide your home needs a deep clean, or it might be time to get back to your garden

Either way, the spring can help you get out of the winter slump and organise your life for the rest of the year.

Lifestyle blog Bon Femmes recently shared five ways to organise your life as we head into this spring season.

Start small

The biggest mistake people make when attempting to organise their home is tackling too large of a project, then being unable to finish.

Instead, you should start with small, easy to accomplish tasks, giving yourself multiple days to do them. Maybe you want to organise your shoes. The next day, you can purge items from the rest of the closet. Then reorganise your desk and drawers. Before you know it, you’ve cleaned your entire bedroom.

Refresh your space

Make cleaning fun by letting your creativity run wild. One reason you may have been dreading organising is because you’re no longer in love with your decor.

As you clean and reevaluate your living spaces, don’t hesitate to get rid of items that no longer suit you and add pops of colour or new decor where you see fit.

Less is more

This mindset is especially true when it comes to your closet. Cleaning out the closet can be overwhelming, but if you have a few mantras to remind yourself, it can make it easier.

Keep in mind that less is more. You probably have a couple favourites you constantly wear, while there’s a few pieces of clothes that have been sitting in the back of your closet for months. Try to think of the last time you wore the item, and if you can’t remember, it’s time to give it away.

Don’t forget your digital space

You might as well declutter your devices while you’re at it. This can mean sorting through emails, deleting old photos and apps, and backing up important documents.

Celebrate progress

If you’ve set small tasks for yourself, celebrate when you complete those. Spring cleaning is about progress, not perfection. The only person you’re doing this for is yourself, so you set the rules.
