Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is finally set to release this Christmas following rumours of poor test screenings and multiple reshoots.
Adding to all this, a new report has alleged further set chaos between co-stars Jason Momoa and Amber Heard.
According to Variety, Johnny Depp fans paid the court fees to release documents from his ex-wife Heard’s therapist.
These notes from a legal pad were part of the defamation case between the former spouses.
They read: “Jason said he wanted me fired. Jason drunk — late on set. Dressing like Johnny. Has all the rings too.”
However, a DC Studios rep said: “Jason Momoa conducted himself in a professional manner at all times on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
Meanwhile, another studio source who said the two stars got on well and joked together added: “Jason works his ass off, likes to have a beer once in a while like everyone, but doesn’t show up drunk to set.
“And he isn’t dressing like Johnny Depp. He has always dressed in that bohemian style.”
A rep for Momoa declined to comment on the matter, as did Heard.
The DC sequel’s synopsis reads: “Several years after the events of the first film, Arthur Curry / Aquaman is forced to protect Atlantis and his loved ones from devastation after an ancient power is unleashed by David Kane / Black Manta obtaining the cursed Black Trident. In order to achieve this, he will have to seek help from an unlikely ally, his brother Orm.”
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits cinemas on December 20, 2023.
