Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s new movie Wolfs will now be available to stream just one week after it’s released in cinemas.

Produced by Apple Studios and helmed by Spider-Man director Jon Watts, the upcoming crime-comedy was originally slated for a wide theatrical release before coming to streaming at a later date.

However, the Apple TV+ release date has now been moved forward to September 27, just a week after it’s released in cinemas on September 20, Deadline reports.

Wolfs features the Ocean’s 11 stars reteaming for another crime caper, this time with both Brad and George portraying professional fixers who are hired to cover up the same murder.

An official synopsis reads: “When the two ‘lone wolves’ are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.”

Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind and Zlatko Buric are also starring.

While the fast track to streaming is a surprising move, it’s clear Apple still has confidence in the property as a sequel has been confirmed over a month before Wolfs is set to be released.

Director Jon will return, though it’s unclear if Brad and George will reprise their roles or if the follow-up will follow two different fixers.

In a statement, Apple Original Films head of features Matt Dentler said: “Wolfs is the kind of big event movie that makes Apple TV+ such an exceptional home for the best in entertainment.

“With George and Brad’s remarkable and engaging chemistry under Jon Watts’ extraordinary direction, Wolfs blends all the great elements of comedy, action, and drama into a hugely entertaining movie that will leave audiences ready for what’s next.

“Releasing the movie to theaters before making it widely available to Apple TV+ customers brings the best of both worlds to audiences, and we’re excited to see fans embrace the movie as we start working with Jon on the sequel.”

The film will premiere at the 81st Venice film later this month before being released to audiences.

It looks like the Spider-Man director has found a new home with Apple, as Marvel’s Kevin Feige confirmed the studio is seeking a new filmmaker to helm Tom Holland’s fourth standalone superhero flick.

Speaking to CinemaBlend, the producer said: “We love Jon. Jon did three of the best Spider-Man films ever for us.

“He’s got lots of things going on now. So we’ll probably be looking for somebody else, just because he’s busy.”

Wolfs will be released in cinemas on Friday, September 20, before streaming September 27 on Apple TV+.
