GHD has launched a new hair tool that shoppers are calling a “complete game-changer” for those who want to acheive a salon-style blowout at home.

The new Duet Blowdry is the latest member of the brand’s wet-to-dry range and follows the success of its Duet Style Hot Air Styler. The barrel-shaped hairdryer brush is designed to take hair from wet to blow-dried with no heat damage, plus it promises up to three times more volume and 50% more shine.

The £379 tool is built with heat sensors to monitor the hair surface temperature with Heat-Air Xchange Technology, an aerodynamic system that harnesses airflow to actively heat the barrel and deliver a gentle blowdry at the optimal low temperature through air flow and surface heat.

The hairbrush has snag-free heated bristles to lock in your style for an incredible 24 hours. Priced at £379, the Duet Blowdry has already received positive reviews from customers in the US.

One woman said: “I loved it! As someone with extra thick hair, using a my high end blow dryer was always a hassle. This product managed to cut my drying time down dramatically, what used to take 30 minutes now only takes 5 minutes!

“If I had to choose one or two things to improve on it would be interchangeable heads to allow the use of smaller brushes for a more detailed blow out and also being able to control the temperature/a cool function to set my hair. But overall still obsessed and will never go back to a regular blow dryer again! The packaging was seamless and it comes with a carry bag and a cleaning brush, super handy.”

Another happy shopper added: “I am really impressed with the Duet Blowdry tool. I’ve purchased, used, and donated a few different blowdry brushes in the past, concluding that my curly, thick (but fine-strand) highlighted blonde hair couldn’t be tamed like a round brush and blowdryer.

“I liked the flat sides which maximized how much hair I could run through it at one time. It also was not loud, definitely quieter than tools I’ve used in the past. I let my freshly washed hair air-dry in a bun all day, and didn’t have high hopes. I am pleased with the smooth results, and also the volume at the roots. Definitely recommend!”

But some were not too impressed of the hairstyler, with one noting: “I have a lot of hair with course, but fine strands. I have butterfly bangs and layers in front. I typically use a ghd hair dryer and round brush to dry/style my hair and a large barrel curling iron when I want a smoother finish and/or want to add a wave.

“Sadly, I really don’t think I will use it again. It did not give me the same smooth finish and controlled style as my ghd hair dryer and ghd round brush. The air is super, super hot and cannot be controlled like regular ghd blow dryer.”

Another cautioned: “The GHD styler did a nice job smoothing the hair and keeping it from getting fuzzy during outside runs or workouts as well. Lastly a word of caution: the hair can get quite hot to the touch immediately after styling, so its best to allow it to cool down before handling.

Other than GHD, Shark’s SmoothStyle Brush is another tool that styles your hair while wet. It blows hot air through the bristles as you style and has a heated smoothing comb on the side to tame any flyaways.

Currently reduced from £99.99 to £89.99, the SmoothStyle is loved by many customers who claim they achieved smooth, sleek hair with no frizz.

Bellissima’s 6-in-1 Ceramic Hot Air Brush is even cheaper, priced at £79.99, and it can be swapped between six attachment heads for different needs.

The new GHD Duet Blowdry is available in both black and white colourways.
